Original Artwork by Alexis Smith, Mural, "Health & Human", 2003
The artwork consists of three components:
The first and second components consist of landscape mural paintings on the east and west lobby walls. Both paintings reach from the spandrel glass, at about 9 feet off the floor, to the ceiling and span the entire north-south dimension. Superimposed on the east wall painting in 11 foot letters are the words "Health &"; on the west wall "& Human". Colors are in relationship to the stone, glass, and metal materials in the lobby.
The third component is a quotation on the mezzanine level:
"ON MAN, ON NATURE, AND ON HUMAN LIFE, MUSING IN SOLITUDE..." William Wordsworth
"RICH... IN HEAVEN'S BEST TREASURES, PEACE AND HEALTH." Thomas Gray
